Dr. Marcia Stone is a scientist, inventor and entrepreneur. Dr. Stone is extremely thorough in her discovery process, especially in product development, and has the ability to completely understand the intricacies of a business or field. She investigates new technologies and products, quickly learns the ins and outs of the industry, and assembles a highly skilled team of professionals in state-of-the-art facilities to bring the new product to market. It is the complete understanding of a new technology that allows Dr. Stone to be extremely successful when launching a product and fostering its development.
At GGS Venture Partners, which she co-founded in 2011, Dr. Stone oversees the worldwide assets and identifies emergent, innovative products for further investment and development. Although a scientist by trade, Dr. Stone has experience bringing consumer goods to market in a variety of industries. As President and CEO of Hybrivet Systems, Inc., her focus was on utilizing chemical methodology, monoclonal antibody technology and methods of biotechnology as the basis for diagnostic products. Dr. Stone manufactured Hybrivet’s flagship product, LeadCheck®, which detected lead contamination.
An example of Dr. Stone’s research and revolutionary product development expertise is the LeadCheck® Swab. Dr. Stone encountered children with illnesses related to lead poisoning and created the LeadCheck® which instantly detects if a substance has been contaminated with lead. Her expertise in the research and development of medical and biotech products helps the lives of consumers on a daily basis.
Dr. Stone also has experience in molecular biology products. She developed the mRNA Translation Kit while at the New England Nuclear Corporation (acquired by DuPont) as the manager of the biomedical division. The product won the Industrial Research & Development 100 Award, which is currently referred to as the R&D 100 Award. While at DuPont, Dr. Stone was responsible for the development of new technologies applicable to the detection of cancer and infectious diseases.
Dr. Stone is a true entrepreneurial spirit, having already patented over 20 products, which have become household names and are still sold worldwide. These patented products have been featured in major scientific journals and print media, and on nationally syndicated television shows such as Oprah and Dr. Oz. She possesses a tremendous understanding of the patent process, is able to personally relate to aspiring business people, and can address and solve large scale consumer issues by researching, developing, launching and growing young, successful startups.
Dr. Stone does just that as a proud member of the Boston Harbor Angels, one of New England’s most active and prestigious angel investment groups. Along with Boston Harbor Angels, Golden Seeds is a member of the Angel Capital Association (ACA).

He focuses his expertise on identifying up-and-coming, innovative consumer products, and has had a very distinguished career in real estate investment and development. Jim has discovered and can quickly understand emerging consumer product trends. He actively supports companies in the GGS portfolio and can rapidly scale teams and ventures.
Jim builds relationships with visionary entrepreneurs and supports category-defining companies during their critical stages of market adoption and growth. He also fosters relationships by uniting carefully selected startups with highly qualified experts. Jim has spent years in senior operational roles within companies, working to put together the appropriate team and operational infrastructure necessary for meaningful exits. With a tremendous success record, Jim adds invaluable credibility to GGS Venture Partners, and is able to propel new businesses to great heights. He specializes in designing, building and scaling transformative consumer products and companies. Prior to GGS, Jim was in both directorial and advisory roles at Hybrivet Systems, Inc. Jim assembled the executive team at Hybrivet and took the lead role for a successful acquisition by 3M.
Jim’s been involved in elevating numerous startup companies, and has executed just as many real estate developments on time and on budget. Jim does not only invest in each business endeavor financially, he puts quality stock into ideas. Jim not only invests his time and efforts in the people behind each new idea, he invests in the idea itself. This helps add to his extremely high success rate. He’s a member of Golden Seeds Angel Investment Group and an active mentor to entrepreneurs and early stage startups. Jim also holds a membership in Boston Harbor Angels. Both investment groups are parts of the Angel Capital Association (ACA).
